Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2026
This policy explains what personal information Bio-Coding Labs collects, how we use and protect it, and the rights you have over your data. We only ever collect what we need to run your order and our website.
1. Who we are
Bio-Coding Labs ("we", "us" or "our") is the data controller responsible for the personal information collected through this website. If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your data, contact us at hello@biocoding.co.uk.
2. Information we collect
Depending on how you use the site, we may collect:
- Contact and account details — your name, email address, delivery and billing address and phone number;
- Order information — the products you buy, order history and correspondence with us;
- Payment information — handled securely by our payment providers; we do not store your full card details on our own servers;
- Technical and usage data — such as your IP address, device and browser type, and how you interact with the site, collected through cookies and similar technologies.
3. How we use your information and our lawful basis
We use your information to process and deliver your orders, take payment, provide customer support, send order and service updates, prevent fraud, meet our legal obligations and improve our website. We rely on the lawful bases of performance of a contract (to fulfil your order), legal obligation (for example tax and accounting records), and our legitimate interests (running and securing the business). Where required, such as for certain marketing, we rely on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
4. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with trusted third parties who help us run the business, including payment processors, delivery couriers, and IT and hosting providers, all of whom are required to keep it secure and use it only for the services they provide to us. We may also disclose information where we are legally required to do so.
5. Cookies
Our site uses cookies and similar technologies to make it work properly, remember your basket and preferences, and understand how the site is used. You can control or block cookies through your browser settings, though some parts of the site may not function correctly without them.
6. How long we keep your data
We keep personal information only for as long as necessary for the purposes set out in this policy, including to meet our legal, accounting and reporting obligations. When data is no longer needed, we securely delete or anonymise it.
7. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to ask us to correct or delete it, to restrict or object to certain processing, to request a copy of your data in a portable format, and to withdraw consent where we rely on it. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@biocoding.co.uk and we will respond within the timeframes required by law.
8. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access, including encrypted connections for payment and account information. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we work hard to safeguard your data.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version, with its "Last updated" date, will always be posted on this page, and any changes take effect once published.
10. Contact and complaints
If you have a concern about how we handle your data, please contact us first at hello@biocoding.co.uk so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the UK's Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
