Reconstitution calculator.
Enter the vial strength, the volume of bacteriostatic water you intend to add, and the target dose. The calculator returns the resulting concentration, the injection volume, and the equivalent units on a 1 mL / 100u insulin syringe. Calculations run locally in your browser.

Method
concentration (mcg/mL) = vial_mg × 1000 ÷ diluent_mL · volume_mL = dose_mcg ÷ concentration · units = volume_mL × 100
Worked example: a 10 mg vial reconstituted with 2 mL of bacteriostatic water yields 5 mg/mL (5,000 mcg/mL). A 250 mcg dose then equals 0.05 mL, or 5 units on a 100u insulin syringe. The calculator surfaces practical edge-cases: results under one unit are flagged as below typical syringe resolution; results above one full mL exceed a single syringe; unusually dilute or concentrated combinations are flagged for protocol confirmation.
